Ready for Irish roads

Through the NCT, the right way.

Japanese imports are mechanically superb, but a handful of things differ from EU and Irish standards. Here's what matters for the NCT (Ireland's roadworthiness test) — and we check, flag or fix every one before your car reaches your driveway.

EU-standard tyres

Japanese-market tyres often lack the EU “E”-mark type approval or the right load / speed rating, and can fail the NCT. We inspect every tyre and fit legal-tread, EU-approved rubber where needed.

Rear fog lamp fitted

Cars built for Japan usually ship without a rear fog light — but it's mandatory in the EU. We fit a compliant rear fog lamp so your car passes.

Lights, beam & RHD

Good news: Japanese cars are right-hand drive and dip to the left, exactly like Ireland — no headlight or steering conversion needed. We still check aim, lenses and every bulb.

Window tint within limits

Heavy JDM tint on the windscreen or front side windows can breach Irish limits (min. 65% light transmission) and fail the NCT. We assess it and remove or replace where required.

Emissions & NOₓ ready

Your car must pass the NCT emissions check, and VRT now includes a NOₓ levy. We pre-check emissions readiness so there are no surprises at the test centre.

Registration & motor tax

We complete the NCTS / VRT inspection and get your Irish plates, then tell you the exact annual motor tax up front (CO₂-based for 2008-on cars, engine-size for older).
